Course Description:
This two
day class provides a detailed introduction to the use of Stones into
your massage practice. Designed to educate and train licensed body
workers in the procedure of using stones effectively with massage
therapy and energy work with benefit to both therapist and client.
Topics covered will include: Stone Thermotherapy, Benefits and
Physiological Responses, Indications and Contraindications,
Full-Body Stone Placements and Sequence, Contrast Therapy: Hot and
Cold Stones, Supplies and Set-up, and Care of your Stones.

Course Title: Ayurveda for Body Workers

Course Description: This workshop is designed to educate therapists in the applications and effectiveness of some lovely Ayurvedic body treatments as well as several beneficial self care techniques. An introduction to Ayurvedic principles and guidelines will cover the 5 elements and the 3 Dosha's as well as explore the psychological and physical attributes of the three mind/body types (Dosha's) ~ Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. We will look at our individual types and then work with traditional Ayurvedic oils to create more specific treatments that help bring balance to the Dosha’s. The lecture material will also cover: Creating Sacred Space & the Use of Color, as well as a discussion on Cleansing, Rejuvenation, & Marma Therapy.
Instructor Bio:
Shoshanna's training began in 1989 with a comprehensive
1000-hour holistic body work program at The New Mexico School of
Natural Therapeutics, Albuquerque, NM.
Her advanced education includes
Neuromuscular Therapy, Connective Tissue, Spa & Watsu Therapy, as
well as, the extensive study of Homeopathic medicine and Ayurvedic
bodywork.
As a Deep
Tissue Instructor she recognized the benefit in using the heated
stones as a tool to do very effective bodywork and has spent the
last several years making this work her specialty. All of this
diverse and extensive experience is brought to these Hot Stone
workshops which are practical and enjoyable.
